[Bruce Llama] Marriage equality changes the world!

Bruce Llama has posted a new item, 'Marriage equality changes the world!'

Mule Head is at it again.

Consider this headline: An equal opportunity commission board member who signed a submission against same-sex marriage has resigned. A respected doctor and community leader has been forced to resign for a horrific crime: yes, he dared to say marriage was between a man and a woman, and children deserve to be raised by their own biological mother and father.

He seems to have no respect for all citizens in Victoria, just the straight ones. He wasn’t forced to resign either, the Government came out in support of him, as did his boss the chief psychiatrist.

The homosexual mafia have once again got their way and shown their true colours. They are destroying freedom and democracy slowly but surely. Every day we witness another example of the pink jackboots in operation. It is getting uglier by the day, and shows no signs of letting up.

WTF is the homosexual mafia? I mean really. And pink jackboots? It’s really these appalling statements that continue to vilify people based only on their desire to enjoy freedom and democracy. I think it’s pretty clear just who wants to limit freedom, and stop people from participating fully in the society in which they live.

For years now I have been documenting the constant war which is being waged against those who value marriage and family, those who value freedom, and those who are people of faith. All three have been heavily hammered by homosexual activists and their supporters in high places.

It’s amusing that he spends his days documenting the ‘constant war’ even more amusing that he thinks a war is being waged by gay people against him. Pretty sure most of the world doesn’t give a toss about him or gay people. Hardly even a blip on the radar. I would have thought that plenty of us value marriage and family, that’s why we want equal rights. I would have thought that plenty of gay people value freedom, that’s why we want the freedom to marry. I would have though that people of faith understand that everyone has a different idea about faith.

Here I offer just some recent examples of this. They are only the tip of the iceberg, but they very nicely demonstrate the battle we are in, and how special rights for homosexuals in general, and homosexual marriage in particular, will change everything. With so many examples to choose from, and so little space here, let me just offer the headline, date, and perhaps the opening paragraph of each recent news item. I will begin with last year and move up to more recent times:

OK, so lets look at the tip of the iceberg. Let’s have a quick glance to see just how special these rights are. Let’s see just how much this will change everything.

Canadian Court: Marriage officials must marry homosexuals

January 10, 2011
The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal declared this morning that proposed legislative amendments that would have allowed Saskatchewans marriage commissioners to refuse to perform same-sex marriages on religious grounds are unconstitutional.

[Bills Source]

Yes, and rightly so. They’re not being asked to marry people in a church. Marriage commissioners are appointed by the government, they are public servants. It’s their job. Changes everything? No. [SOURCE]

Army: court-martial Chaplains for religious, conscience objection to homosexuality
March 24, 2011
The U.S. Army has officially threatened military chaplains they must either embrace the new openly homosexual military, resign from service, or face court-martial for their religious, conscience objections.

[Bills Source]

Just a fully fabricated story that’s out and out wrong. For someone who claims to fully research everything he seems to stop short of finding out the truth. Changes everything? No. [SOURCE]

Tory MP calls for churches to be banned from holding marriages if they refuse gay couples
PinkNews, September 2, 2011

It seems to be a call to make sure that gay people can be married in churches. I don’t think any new laws have been passed. Doesn’t seem to be too serious at all. Bit like Abbott calling for an election, just making noise with minimal impact.

MPs vote to stop civil servants refusing to carry out gay weddings
November 15, 2011
Dutch MPs voted on Tuesday afternoon for a change in the law to prevent civil servants refusing to conduct gay marriages.

Yes, civil servants should carry out the law as directed by the government, that’s what we expect.

Lesbian couple mulls action against Christian wedding cake baker
November 16, 2011
An Iowa baker who politely declined to provide a wedding cake for two lesbians based on her Christian values may face legal action from the couple.

Really? Fancy that, a customer wants to sue a shop because they refused to serve them. Changes the world? No. Pisses off the shop owner. Yes.

Gay rights activist calls for boycott of Salvation Army Christmas fundraiser
November 28, 2011
Gay rights activists who object to the Salvation Armys biblical stance on homosexuality are launching their annual call to shut down the organizations Christmas fundraiser.

Yeah, that’s right, the Salvos are pricks. What’s wrong with calling for a boycott? Not like the christians never attempt that sort of thing. Changes the world? Nah. The Salvos don’t seem to be suffering from a lack of public support.

Case of counseling student forced to undergo pro-homosexual sensitivity training goes to court
December 2, 2011
After losing at a lower court, a counseling student at a public university in Georgia who was threatened with expulsion because she expressed discomfort with counseling homosexuals, is pleading her case before an Appeals Court this week.

And rightly so, we expect a counsellor should always have the best intentions for their clients, not judge the issues based on their own personal beliefs. How would it be if professional counsellors allowed their own personal belief dictate the way the treated their clients? Changes the world? Yes – it stops self-centred christians from counselling people against what’s best for them.

Macys fires woman for refusing transgender man access to womens fitting room
December 8, 2011
A woman has been fired from a Macys department store for denying a man dressed as a woman access to the womens fitting room. I had to either comply with Macys or comply with God, said Natalie Johnson.

That’s right – Macy’s have a policy, staff need to follow it. And where does this god thing call for transgender people to be denied access to a fitting room? A fucking fitting room? You know, where you go in and lock the fucking door to keep everyone else out.

All Ontario teachers will be forced to undergo diversity training by 2013: minister
December 22, 2011
By 2013 prospective teachers in Ontario will be required to undergo focused training in sexual orientation and gender diversity, says a cabinet minister in Premier Dalton McGuintys Liberal government.

Why would that even be an issue?

A New Jersey judge ruled against a Christian retreat house that refused to allow a same-sex civil union ceremony to be conducted on its premises, ruling the Constitution allows some intrusion into religious freedom to balance other important societal goals.
January 12, 2012

Well, it’s debatable whether the ‘premises’ is private. It’s in a public park and the retreat house (code for christian church) receives public money to maintain it. Everyone climbs all over the pavilion. [SOURCE]

Gay activists attack church over same-sex marriage message

15 February 2012
Same Sex Marriage supporters attacked Wallsend, NSW Presbyterian Church last night in response to a message criticising same-sex marriage displayed on the buildings outside notice board.

Yep, out and out vandalism. Shouldn’t be allowed. Changes everything? No. Perpetratorswho break the law will be treated as criminals, charged, jailed or fined.

Homosexual marriage changes everything. Who will be the next one to be fired, fined or kicked out of a job?

And on and on he goes with article after article.

For Bill, having a few civil servants being asked to do their job, or some teachers being trained to ensure they treat all children fairly is wrong. He wants christians to have a special status in the world. They have to be allowed to follow their faith, regardless of where they work. It doesn’t matter to him that what they are doing may cause great harm to those they come in contact with.

Marriage equality won’t change everything. It will make the work a better place. He won’t even notice any difference.

[Bruce Llama] Preston is no anti-abortion hero

Bruce Llama has posted a new item, 'Preston is no anti-abortion hero'

[SOURCE]

So, a Brisbane man, Graham Preston, has been jailed for not paying his fines worth $8,000. He was fined fortrespassing and resisting arrest. He places himself between women trying to enter a clinic and intimidates and stops them from entering.

The women are heading into the clinic for an abortion. This christian puts himself between the woman and the clinic. For the last ten years he has been fined. He’s refused to pay. He’s been asked over 100 times to pay the bill, but has refused.

Christian fuck-wits now think this serial pest is a hero. Me old mate Spinksys says this “Jailed for Being Pro-life

Pro-lifer Graham Preston is facing 8 months in jail for peacefully protesting outside of abortion clinics. He is a strong reminder of the possible repercussions that can be faced for standing against immorality

No, he wasn’t peaceful at all. He was trespassing and making a nuisance of himself. He was yelling in the faces of women trying to go about their personal business.

Billy the Mule has a bit to say too:

He is back at it again, willing to lose his freedoms on the behalf of the unborn. Graham is now back in prison for another eight months. His crime? Seeking to prevent those who would continue the genocide of the unborn. Just as earlier brave culture warriors usually Christians fought the evil slave trade, so too today some heroic believers are putting their life on the line for the unborn.

Actually, if Preston was interested in doing his bit, he would pay the fine so that he could continue to protest. Now he’s locked up. And his crime was that he didn’t pay the fines, not for preventing ‘genocide of the unborn’. This is nothing like fighting the slave trade, and he is not putting his life on the line for anyone. He broke the law, he refused to pay the fine and has been locked up. It’s really simple.

Meanwhile, Wally over at the ACL says this

Brisbane father Graham Preston has been jailed for eight months for peacefully protesting in front of the doors of Brisbane abortion clinics and refusing to move.

No, he was fined for trespass. He was fined for getting in the way. He was jailed because he didn’t pay those fines, he was not jailed for peacefully protesting.

Christians just love to overlook the obvious. Call him a hero because they really need a hero.

The reality is the ‘protest’ is a vigil that sees someone sitting on the stairs blocking people trying to gain access to the building. People visiting the clinic have to step over theprotesters. They sit there with their little signs that say “Abortion kills children” and think that they’re doing gods work.

Those women visiting are confronted by people who think they know better. I don’t know what it’s like to decided to have an abortion, but I think people making that decision have already done a lot of thinking. This emotional protest is pretty grotesque and designed to make the woman feel guilt and cause deep emotional distress.

Preston is a fool, he should have paid the fines and ceased his obstruction. Instead he is now costing us more money and christians nutters reckon this is a good thing.

The values of christians is pretty fucked up. They want everyone to play by their rules alone. When the police or the state step in to remove them, they scream about being the victims and not having the freedom to protest.

[Bruce Llama] Muehlenberg says the world's about to end!

Bruce Llama has posted a new item, 'Muehlenberg says the world's about to end!'

[SOURCE]

Billy the Mule’s latest attempt at preventing marriage equality is among the most offensive he’s ever written. Even the title is a language that needs to be shunned, or at the very least snipped from the internet, rolled up in a copy of the bible and force feed to him. To suggest that allowing marriage equality will lead to social suicide is reallyreprehensibleas a turn of phrase.

Only rarely in human history are people allowed to take part in, or at least observe, transformations and revolutions which are far-reaching and earth-shattering.

He really believes that allowing two gay people to get married will be earth-shattering. You know what’s earth shattering? Flying planes into buildings. How our lives have changed since then. Tsunami’s in Japan and the Indian Ocean, that’s earth shattering. Earth quakes inHaiti. The Cuban missile crisis, the overthrow of dictators, the slaughtering of millions of people, the destruction of rain forests, thefinancialcrisis, the Mabo decision, the sacking of Gough…and on and on. All these events in our world have far-reaching effects that have resounded through the lives of many in Australia and around the world.

Let’s look at what Billy is on about. Marriage Equality. He thinks that allowing everyone to get married is the end of the world.

We are in fact involved in one of the great cataclysmic events of our time. Never before in human history has parts of mankind declared war on something so fundamental and as pivotal as the institutions of marriage and family.

Cataclysmic? A few gays getting hitched? And where’s the war? I don’t see anyone out on the street, taking sides and killing others. There’s no war going on here. Nobody is talking about destroying anything, at all. Nobody is saying that marriage as we know it must stop, men and women will continue to marry.

But in the West today militant minority groups… are doing all they can to obliterate marriage and family. And the even more incredible thing is that they are being aided and abetted by so many in high places.

Militant minority groups – that is, the ones that aren’t the ACL or the AFA, are not trying to obliteratemarriageand family. Marriage equality will not bring destruction down upon us. It really won’t.

So many have simply remained silent, pretending none of this was taking place. In the same way the majority of church leaders did nothing and said nothing as the Nazis were climbing the political ladder in Germany. They refused to speak out, and when they may have wanted to do so later, it was then of course far too late.

Well no, it’s not that so many have ‘simply remained silent’, nor are they pretending it’s not taking place. I rather suspect it’s a non issue. It’s nothing like the Nazis in Germany, and shame on you, I mean really Muehlenberg, shame on you for even equating the current political debate about marriage equality with Hitler. Hitler and the Nazis were rounding up Jews, gays, gypsy and others that they consideredundesirableand killing them. This is not the same thing at all. Nobody is rounding up catholics andevangelicalchristians to kill them because the wantmarriageto stay the same. That is an arsehole of acomparison.

Throughout human history heterosexual marriage and family have been the norm. Sure, there have been plenty of minor variations of the theme, but the basic fundamental structure of heterosexual marriage has always existed. Yet here we are, trying to redefine it out of existence.

Nobody is redefining marriage out of existence. Nobody is saying that marriage between a man and a woman must stop. Allowing another ‘minor variation’ will not stop people from marrying, and it certainly won’t stop them from breeding.

And I made it quite clear to the committee that destruction would indeed be the case. Sure, it will not happen overnight; such radical social changes may take many decades before we see the full effects and the very real negative fallout from all this.

Let me get this right, you made it clear to a Senate committee that allowing marriage equality will lead to the destruction of society as we know it, but not straight away… it will take decades… based on what?

The evidence is overwhelmingly clear: whenever these radical laws are passed, everything changes. Everyone is impacted. Freedoms will be taken away, and the coercive power of the state will be used to get a resistant population to comply fully with the new world order.

Where has this happened? Canada? Nope, still a democracy, and one that’s moved back to the right. Spain? Nope, still a democracy, but they too have return a conservative government. South Africa? New Zealand? No where has marriage equality made the slightest bit of difference to the society in which it exists.

But you see, Bill has over forty newspaper articles that proves his point. I haven’t seen the document where he lists those articles, but his blog has plenty of stories of oddity that he uses as if to say that this is the way the world is. It would be a bit like me taking the story about the Austrian father and husband that kept his daughter locked in the basement for over twenty years. From the storyit should be clear to everyone that allowing men to marry women will lead to the sexual and physical abuse of the children and must be stopped.

To have to go into a government meeting to defend the most basic, the most natural, the most fundamental, the most universal, and the most historic social institutions of all time marriage and family demonstrates that we are just about kaput as a civilisation.

Defend what? Marriage as you know and love it Billy boy, isn’t going anywhere. It will remain the most fundamental and most universal institution of our time, it will just include men marrying men and women marrying women. Even that slight tweak won’t change that those same men and women already live together and raise families. Mostly those families turn out really well. Just sometimes, like all relationships, they go ‘kaput’.

I feel compelled to leave you with a Douglas Adams quote from theHitch HikersGuide to the Galaxy.

Barman: Did you say the world is coming to an end? Shouldn’t we all lie on the floor or put paper bags over our heads?
Ford: If you like.
Barman: Will it help?
Ford: Not at all.

I can feel Wally’s brain bursting from here. Exploding in all directions.

an outrageous travesty of free speech to pass almost unchallenged by its own Press Council

Outrageous! It’s a travesty! They didn’t do it may way! It’s almost unchallenged!

Never mind that the Genome Project mapped the genetic makeup of the whole human body without finding a gay gene

Never mind that the Genome Project mapped the genetic makeup of the whole human body without finding a heterosexual fuckwit gene.

I mean really, is that the best you can do Wally?

Doug Pollard, a broadcaster on gay radio station Joy FM, asserting that science proved homosexuality was not a choice without offering a shred of evidence.

That’s right, Doug must be gay coz he’s on a gay radio station, therefore he’s a liar and a homosexual activist and he makes things up to support his own opinion, and he just isn’t right and he’s trying to turn the whole world gay and he’s trying to ** brain fart.

Doug has gone to the trouble to give the answer you wanted, he posted it to your website, we all wait to see if you approve it. If you don’t there’s a copy at the bottom of this blog post1

Still it seems you are not allowed to advance even the idea that it might be a matter of choice.

You’re really stretching it here aren’t you. Nowhere is there any credible research that evenindicatesthat sexuality is a choice. Sure, sure, there’s all that religious crap, but they always have formed their answer and do their darndest to find the evidence to match. The biggest hint for you in this matter, Wally old man, is to ask yourself when you made a choice to be straight. Sorry, I assumed you’re straight. You are straight? Then you need to ask this question, “Why would anyone want to be gay in this world when there are bigots and homophobes trying to get rid of you?”

This lazy ruling by a Council against whom there is no avenue for appeal is an outrageous capitulation to homosexual activists aggressively intolerant of any position which does not line up with their views. It is bad enough that we have the public demonization of any alternate voices by charges of bigotry, gay hate and homophobia, without the profession we rely on most to protect freedom of expression aiding and abetting its public propaganda.

Careful Wally, I can see the veins throbbing in your temples.

You do understand that we have a right to challenge people’s perceptions.

You do understand that we have a right to question and remark upon the comments of silly people who base their position on what was written in a book that is over 2000 years old. They pretend it to be the word of some supernatural being who created everyone, including people who you think choose to be gay.

You honestly think that the notion that sexuality is a choice is helping anyone at all? Check the suicide stats and see who’s killing themselves. Yeah, that’s right, gay kids, they’d sooner kill themselves rather than undo the choice you think they made.

Talk about public demonization. Talk about aggressively intolerant of any position which doesn’t line up with your view.

The issue of gay marriage and perhaps more importantly what our children are taught about homosexuality, is critical for our society.

Yeah, coz we really want to make sure that kids growing up know and understand that their sexuality is innate and whatever it is, it’s ok.

It is to decide how we value the essential functions of motherhood and fatherhood and whether an aggressive minority can impose a new definition on an institution defined by biology since man and woman first procreated.

Umm… you’re the head of the ACL, which again and again has been shown not to be representative of the constituency that you pretend to represent. Most christians are not represented by you, that makes you a minor player.

You call the homosexual activist an aggressive minority while doing the same thing. You actually think that somehow marriage is a biological institution just coz men and women have sex and have babies? You ignore the fact that you can fuck without being married. And you actually think that this minority of gay people will somehow bring ourcivilisationto a collapse because some of them want to get married and have kids. Those gay couples who do decide to do that will always be in a minority.

But with this decision it has become a deeper matter of not only truth, but on what topic our freedom of expression will be limited.

And yet, here you are exercising your free speech right by publishing this outrageous document, and here’s the press council telling the newspaper not that they can’t print this rot, but they have to offer sufficient space for a rebuttal.

Just where has the free speech been limited?

  1. What Doug wrote as a comment on the ACL website and then posted to the Facebook Group Proud to be a Second Class Citizen.

Commented on ACL website – tho they probably won’t post it.
As the Doug Pollard in question I find it very amusing Mr Wallace that you could not be bothered to Google the very extensive research that is available online that does indeed provide the scientific evidence you prefers not to seek: Rachel Maddow yesterday dealt with this issue inn two excellent items here http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/rachel-maddow-how-the-ex-gay-movement-has-harmed-every-gay-persons-life/politics/2012/04/19/38259 , including the refutation by Switzer of his own research that you can now no longer use as ‘proof’ people can change.

The man to whom he made this admission has laos written about the confidence trick that is NARTH, another organisation you are fond of relying on for your ‘science’. http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/2012/04/11/43514

As I pointed out in my rebuttal, almost every posterboy the ‘gay cure’ lobby has ever put up as ‘proof’ has eventually either admitted that nothing changed and they are still gay (see the Maddow link above) or been sprung cruising gay bars in their spare time.

It would be a joke if this nonsense didn’t do severe psychological damage to the poor souls caught up in the cycle of self-hatred and despair you promote.

One Australian man who was trapped in this horror freed himself and now helps others: Paul Martin http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news/queensland/gay-psychologist-sees-the-light/2008/12/17/1229189662679.html

Anthony Venn-Brown is another, who was an evangelical preacher before he too faced facts and now helps people reconcile their homosexuality and their faith. Now THAT’S a REAL Christian.

May I implore you to open your eyes to the truth before you do any more damage to vulnerable people.

So, would be Treasurer blasts our entitlement attitude. Too much social welfare!

Arsehole.

It seems pretty clear to me that this is another swipe at those less able to fend for themselves, find a job, get a start in life, help in their old age, those with a disability and many other ways that we as a society look after each other.

He said a lower level of entitlement meant countries were free to allow business and individuals to be successful. ”It reduces taxation, meaning individuals spend less of their time working for the state, and more of their time working for themselves and their family.”

That’s right, kick those needing help in the guts so those earning lots can work less and spend more time with their families. Fuck everyone else.

Perhaps he should have said a more equitable taxation system that allowed all citizens to live good and productive lives is what we should be aiming form. Taking care of each other is how societies grown

Do people rip the system off? You bet. Whether its attempting to get more money from a government benefit or attempting to reduce the amount of personal income tax some people will always attempt to subvert the system for their own gain. They are dishonest and selfish. We need to create a society that actually does care about each other.

Hockey needs to address the imbalance, while they can’t control how much huge corporations pay their executives, they can control how much tax they pay. Lets talk about that tax reform, so that we can get a balanced budget.

It’s way to easy to kick the people on low incomes than it is to pick on the big earners.

Just when you thought that married life for Spinksy would settle him down, you know now he can get laid while Jesus watches, along he comes with another wild blog to tell those Atheists just how fucked they’re gonna be!

The Atheist Convention of 2011 was such a rousing success that they are doing it again in Melbourne. This means that there will be another round of advertisments. Chiefly among those is the advertisement on the side of a bus, which this year will be saying If God exists, I hope He has a good excuse:

The last Global Atheist Convention, and the first one too, was in 2010 and it too was in Melbourne. As part of the lead up the lead up to the 2012 event, the Australian Atheist Foundation has done some advertising on buses.

Thankfully David Nicholls, president of the Atheist Foundation of Australia, has elaborated Woody Allens words encapsulate the thoughts of the freethinking community and the sneaking suspicions of a growing number of religious people as well. Considering the immensity of the unnecessary death, pain and suffering on the planet, an alleged all-powerful and all-loving god certainly has a lot to answer for.

Essentially God needs an excuse for the “immensity of the unnecessary death, pain and suffering on the planet”.

I think the point is that atheist don’t accept that there is a god. Hence the word ‘alleged’ in the quote.

It is important to note that death, pain and suffering were created because of our evil decisions.

So now it’s out fault that your perfect god created people who could do great evil. Not your god who is to blame for allowing it to happen in the first place. Now you have to make excuses for god.

It is a dangerous game to attribute God with the consequences of mans sinful decisions. Let us hope these atheists realise their folly.

Oh yeah Spinksy, we understand. You are so shit frightened of dying and going to hell that you’ll do all you can to make it look like you’re going to heaven. Got news for you dear, you’re going to die and that’s it. The folly is that you’ve wasted your life chasing invisible ugly pixies. This isn’t a dangerous game.

Cardinal Hell, his grace the most graceful of grace sort of said on the telly last week that he thought the jews were intellectually inferior to the advanced civilisations around them. That’s why god chose them as his special friends, with benefits, so he could fuck them over and they wouldn’t know. He didn’t want to give his divine word to the Egyptians, cos they might ask too many questions.

he also suggested that ”no people in history were [as severely] punished as the Germans were”, apparently ignoring the Holocaust, for which the Germans were punished.

Oh yeah, coz dropping two nukes on Japan was of course a doddle for the Japanese. But that’s ok. They’re not christian.

Hell is more bent on paying homage to his boss, who happens to be German, than he is in carrying any sense of social justice to the jewish people, non-christians and atheists.

[Bruce Llama] Jesus Crucified

Bruce Llama has posted a new item, 'Jesus Crucified'

Jesus crucified, for us he suffered for us he died, on the cross

So goes the song from my child hood. We only ever sung the words on Good Friday, the one day of the year that christians everywhere take the day off and think about how much jesus has done for them.

The suffering of jesus on the cross, his dying and then his resurrection is the pivot point for their christian faith. Without this great sacrifice christianity means nothing. There would be no point.

catholicchurch

St Mary's - Hamilton

You see, god so loved the world that he sent his only son that we may live. What a marvellous thing to do.

Crucifixion is no easy thing. Certainly not for jesus, you see, he was whipped and beaten, made to carry his own wooden cross, had his clothes ripped from him, was nailed to the cross, was stabbed and had his legs broken.

They strung him up and it was all over within the day, a matter of hours.

What a great sacrifice he made for us.

Then, I think about those others who suffer and die. Not for sins, but because of the brutality of others. Those who are tortured physically, mentally, sexually. Their suffering can go on for many years. The torment may lead to their death by their own hands, and sometimes death by those that abuse them.

Think about those that are sick. They might have cancer and suffer for years, in great pain. They have treatment that prolongs their life, but the cost is great suffering as the illness finally overcomes them and they die a pain-killer drugged death. Nobody stabs them or breaks their legs to get it over with in a couple of hours.

After the horrible death of jesus, guess what, he came back to life! Isn’t that simply incredible. After his hours of suffering, he sprang back to life, all healed. Great sacrifice god, well done you!

So great was the sacrifice that we now build temples in honour of jesus. We keep a red light burning all the time1when we have some of his body kept in a ciborium2 with a veil over it hidden away in the tabernacle3. It’s important to bring gifts of flowers and money to the altar, and you should also be sure to have a statue of jesus with his heart hanging out of his shirt.

jesus

Jesus with his heart

If you are almost as famous as jesus and you die of cancer, somebody might make a statue of you, or name a bridge after you. Sometimes a foundation might be set up. If you’re really lucky you’ll get both a building and a foundation.

What you won’t get is brought back to life. Even though your suffering has been thousands of times worse than crucifixion, through no choice of your own, you’ll die and that’s the end of it. Two generations and nobody will know you. Just visit any cemetery and see how many people you actually know.

So, here we are at easter, there’s much talk from bishops and priests about love, how great it is that their god sent his only son (which was also himself), suffered, died and rose again. They’ll do this dress in fine linen, living in luxuriousaccommodations, having more gold than you and I can dream of, and the only suffering they have to put up with is a few words thrown their way by rude people who are hellbent on persecuting them.

That’s suffering for you.

The catholic bishops in Victoria have sent a letter to all the catholics in Victoria. The document has been written to remind their faithful that they must oppose marriage equality.

Pastoral Letter on theTrue Meaning of Marriage
from theCatholic Bishops of Victoria

True meaning of marriage? Where do you take your definition from?

30 March 2012

Dear Brothers & Sisters

So, the catholics are all one big family of brothers and sister, marrying each other perhaps?

We Australians live in a democracy which rightly places great value on human rights and protecting others fromunjust discrimination.

Yeah, it’ s suppose to protect people from abuse as well.

We Catholics also believe deeply that God loves human beings very much. He especially loves those who arewounded and suffering. God loves each of us so much despite the fact that we are all sinners, make mistakes andoften do not live up to our responsibilities.

In the context of this letter, are you suggesting that non-heterosexuals are wounded and suffering?

The Church takes seriously that we must live the Gospel itself to be a credible witness to others. Deeply awareof Christs mission of compassion and justice – the Church cannot ignore the responsibility to speak the truth inlove.

And yet the catholic church in Victoria will not deal with those who claim abuse from it in a just way, nor is there much compassion. The church has devised a way to negate their responsibility by making it impossible to take any legal action against it.

Sometimes reminding people about the truth of the human person is one such task for all of us.

Your version of the truth is that unless you are heterosexual you are considered deranged.

Some now seek to alter the very nature of the human person through legislation.

I’m pretty sure that our nature is really difficult to alter by legislation. You guys like to pretend that people are as you want them to be, not as we really are.

Our Australian society is nowat a critical turning point where truth is at stake.

Oh, please, you’d think the catholics are the only ones with truth. You use the bible as the source of all your ‘truths’ and yet you don’t have one single source document, all you have are partial copies of manuscripts, and yet we are expected to believe that this is truth.

We speak of current debates about the nature of marriage in our public life. Often it seems as if this matter issimply about human rights and the removal of discrimination. But in addition to human rights there are alsohuman responsibilities.

What’s with the quote marks around human rights and human responsibilities? And it really is a matter of human rights and the removal of discrimination, it is the responsibility of all humans to treat each other with respect and dignity.

We are all blessed by God with the gift of our sexuality. The design itself comes from the Creator of Life. We allhave a responsibility to follow that design.

First of all, you have to believe in god to believe sexuality is a gift. That aside, homosexuality, according to this is designed by god, and yet the catholic church considers gay people to be objectively disordered. That’s a great design by your god.

The Church firmly believes that marriage is founded on the wonderful fact of sexual difference and its potentialfor new life.

To claim that marriage was founded is purely speculative and without basis. For all we know this ancient tradition was founded on the exchange of goats between desert dwellers. We don’t have sex to have children, we have sex because it feels good, and sometimes that results in children. Marriage is less about having kids and more about living your life with someone you love.

Without this there would be no human beings and no future. Bringing new human life into the worldis founded on the loving union in difference of male and female.

Oh please, it is not. You don’t need marriage to bring new human life into the world. Youcertainlydon’t need a loving union, you simply ignore the reality of breeding. Humanity will continue regardless of whether marriages produce children, and guess what, gay people want to have kids too!

Children are best nurtured by a mother andfather.

Actually, that’s not right. If one of the parents are abusive, the child is probably better off with just one of the parents. Children are best nurtured when their parents love them, regardless of the gender of the parents. The church again ignores the reality of the world where they live.

As one theologian has put it eloquently: The God of love can be present in every true love. But gay marriage isimpossible because it attempts to cut loose marriage from its grounding in our biological life. If we do that, wedeny our humanity.

Stupid quote that really means nothing. Gay marriage is not impossible, it exists around the world. Marriage equality works because it is ground in the biology of human sexuality. And again, you don’t need marriage to have children.

This will be a hard saying for some. It in no way implies that the Church accepts discrimination against othershuman rights.

No, it’s not implied. The church actively discriminates against other’s human rights. The church refuses to accept people who are gay as real people. Instead it considers them disordered.

Nor does it mean we fail to understand the complex nature of human sexual identity and desire.

But you do fail to understand the nature of sexuality as you consider anyone not heterosexual to be gravely disordered. You answer the complexity by saying by simply calling all the homosexuals disordered.

It implies no lack of respect for people who identify as gay and lesbian.

No disrespect? Then why do you put quote marks around gay and lesbian as if the words are made up. That’s really very disrespectful. In the same way as I mean disrespect when I use a small c for catholic, small g for god and a small j for jesus.

As Cardinal Francis George of Chicagorecently pointed out: … we all have friends or family members who are gay and lesbian… these are people weknow and love and are part of our families.

However as fellow citizens our concern is for the future of our whole society. We ask you to seriously reflect and prayabout the ramifications for current and future generations, of legislation which completely redefines marriage.

If we take the lead of the catholic church we’d still think divorce was a pretty bad idea, we’d still think that women should be at home doing nothing but having babies, people would still think that they could get into heaven by buying papal bulls and bits of dead people. Young women who get pregnant would have their babies taken from them, priests would still destroy the lives of innocent boys and girls. It’s good that we have moved beyond the control of this beast of an organisation. They have no moral authority. Marriage equality will not redefine anything at all. Society will continue to have men and women breed. You know, like it’s always been. Gay people will continue to live together and some of them will have children. Nothing changes at all.

A grave mistake will be made if such legislation is enacted. The Government cannot redefine the naturalinstitution of marriage, a union between a man and a woman. The Government can regulate marriage, but thisnatural institution existed long before there were any governments. It cannot be changed at will.

There is nothing natural about marriage. Where else in our world does it exist? Even those animals that pair for life have no formal recognition of their relationship by the other animals. It’s a man madeinstitution, and one that has changed over many hundreds of years. It’s only right that government should and do regulate and change it as it’s citizens see fit.

The argument that same sex marriage supports marriage is wrong. The natural institution will not only bechanged, it will be re-defined absolutely. It will become something different. Such a re-definition will underminerather than support marriage.

How? People will still get married. People will still get divorce. People will still have sex with others. People will still not get married. The thing that changes is that a section of ourcommunityis giving respect and dignity .

Catholics, as responsible citizens of the Commonwealth of Australia, have a duty to remind their politicalrepresentatives that much is at stake for the common good in this debate.

Yes, that’s right. We all have a duty to treat all of our citizens equally.

We urge you to exercise that right and make direct representation to your Members of Parliament.

Stop telling people what to do.

We encourage you to respond to the on-line survey set up by the Federal Government at their website:www.aph.gov.au/marriage. The closing date for responses is Friday, 20 April 2012.

I encourage you to respond too – but not the way the bishops want.

The survey contains threestatements with which you can agree or disagree.

See – this is them not telling you what to do. But, after reading all the rot before, you can pretty well guess what they want from ‘responsible catholics’ who are sinners.

It then asks if you support the proposed changes to the twoseparate Bills, to which you answer yes or no. If you choose you can simply answer these few questions in lessthan one minute. The survey also provides space (maximum of 250 words) for you to explain your views. Somepoints that you might like to consider including are set out at www.cam.org.au/lifemarriagefamily/

Yeah, that website more or less says that anyone who disagrees with the catholic position is uncivilised.

Our Australian society will flourish only if the true meaning of marriage is preserved for future generations.

And there’s the threat. The big bang, if you like. If we allow the ‘gays’ and ‘lesbians’ to marry then our society will not flourish. It will not be preserved for future generations.

With every blessing.

I don’t want your fucking blessings. You guys run around is bizarre outfits with silly hats, holding silly sticks, pretending to eat the body and blood of a long dead man that you hold up in nothing but a loin cloth, nailed to a cross, dying and drenched in blood, and you want the rest of us to follow you? Why?

The catholic church displays it’s contempt for humanity. It’s time that those who call themselves catholics told their bishops to take their holy relics and shove them where the sun don’t shine.

[Bruce Llama] Christian Lobby Claims Queensland Victory

Bruce Llama has posted a new item, 'Christian Lobby Claims Queensland Victory'

[SOURCE]

After a couple of decades of Labor rule in Queensland, the voters have tipped them, well more like ejected them, from office. The Liberal National Party have won and will now run the state of Queensland with absolute authority. (Queensland only has one house, so no checks on power as such)

I don’t think there was ever any doubt about the result. The polling clearly indicated that the Labor party would be thrown out.

In the lead up to this state election, the Australian Christian Lobby, a small group of fundamentalist christians who pretend to represent all Australian christians, do what they normally do, they held Meet the Candidates Forums about the issues they think are important. You know, religious indoctrination in schools, banning abortion, stopping the horrible homosexuals from getting married.

The then Premier Anna Bligh said no, she wouldn’t attend. The ACL was livid. The soon-to-be Premier did go along.

I’ve seen more people queue up for food at McDonald’s than attend one of the ACL’s events. Clearly Bligh could see there was no need to attend, no votes, or at least, not enough votes in it.

That didn’t stop Wendy Francis the facearse of the ACL in Queensland and failed politician, from claiming victory that Bligh had lost because she didn’t attend one of their meetings!

Ms Bligh and the ALP leaderships decision to disregard such a large constituency would have only compounded the loss.

Oh, Wendy is so moist. She so much wants to sing “na, na, na na na.”

It was well known in the Christian constituency that most Labor MPs had voted to deny children the chance to at least begin life with a mother and father through controversial surrogacy laws allowing singles, two men or two women to acquire babies.

Is it? You sure about that? They actually voted for a civil union scheme, nothing about denying children anything. Surrogacy laws help create families.

It was also obvious that Labors high-profile championing of marriage-mimicking civil unions did not win it any votes, particularly as it was clearly rushed through as a political stunt to support gay activists campaigning at the ALP National Conference in December last.

You seem pretty certain. When watching the leaders debate recently, neither issue was actually raised. Perhaps it was clear to the ACL who were probably sitting around a table at the local McDonald’s sharing some fries.

The importance and swinging nature of the Christian vote, which would have almost completely abandoned Anna Bligh in this election is well documented

Well no, this is the ALP, if they even thought there was some votes in getting along to one of the ACL’s little chats with the christians, they would have done it. You see, that’s the way it works.

The ALP minders would have said “Go!”

Bligh would have said “How many votes?”

Minders “Not many”

Bligh “Will it change the outcome?”

Minders “No”

Bligh “Fuck the christian lobby then”

I may have made the last line up.

The consequences of ignoring a major constituency in the community should be a lesson to politics as a whole

Major constituency? That’s a laugh, by the ACL’s own admission:

Mrs Francis conducted 24 Meet Your Candidate Forums attended by 1500 people throughout the State during the election campaign.

So, a couple of things. There are 90 electoral divisions in Queensland, the ACL only got to 24. Queensland’s population is about 4.51 million, some 2.7 million are voters1. Out of that pool of voters 1,500 attended an ACL candidates forum. Which really is slightly more than number of wombats having sex with rocks.

Perhaps the ACL could explain its relevance to the electoral, because, like the wombats dry humping an odd rock, they’re fucking useless.
